Creating Cultural Swag In Our Youth

Don’t Make It Mean Something Just Make It Move

November 30, 2010

Don’t Make It Mean Something Just Make it Move means that in any interaction with family members, classmates, friends, or complete strangers we have a tendency to attach meaning to the simple words, phrases, and statements that people say, or the actions that they take.  We attach meaning to our gender, race, religion, ethnic group, socio-economic class, neighborhood, region, state, and country.  We take actions from the limited view of who we think we are, and how we’re suppossed to act.  We inherit problems, fears, doubts, worries, and insequrities from our social environment which includes; family, neighborhood, schools, media, and society as a whole.  We lose confidence, courage, and trust as we get older and colder to living a powerful life.  We disempower ourselves from the many situations that we react to in our lives.  Test; whenever something is said or done and you feel a lump in your throat, stomach gets tight, you clam up, your hearts starts to speed up, you feel pressure in your chest, and you’re ready to shut down or attack like a battle cat, then you made the situation mean a whole lot.  To make things move in your life, means to stay committed to love, patience, and determination.  To take fearless action around things that really matter in life.  If you don’t make it mean something, then you don’t internalize or absorb any reactions, or negative emotions.  Your available, ready, and always able to make miracles simple as miracle whip on a sandwich!
